App Manager Application Properties
These properties affect an individual Digitise app and are configured within App Manager, under the Application category Properties tab.
The Properties in this category apply to all versions of the app. Properties in the Version category below, however, are set on a version basis, allowing you to specify different settings for different versions of the app, if required.
Name
Read-only. Name of app.
Specify whether users are able to choose whether to install the app or an update or it will automatically be installed (forced update).
To allow users to choose whether to install the app, select Allow user the choice of installing this application; to automatically install the app or update, select Force the user to install this application.
This option affects apps running within a standard Digitise Apps Client on all Platforms and updates to Standalone Apps on Android and Windows desktops and tablets. You cannot download updates to Standalone Apps running on iOS devices.
For Android, Universal Windows and Windows Desktop Platforms, changes to this Property will be updated on the Digitise Apps Client or Standalone App the next time the Client connects to the App Server to refresh the App List, i.e. if the Client or Standalone App checks for updates when loading or authenticates a user with the App Server or a user manually refreshes the list. On Apple devices, the Digitise Apps Client doesn't include the ability to refresh the Application List, so changes will be picked up the next time the Client or Standalone App authenticates a user with the App Server.
Default value: Allow user the choice of installing this application
Audit Level
Allows you to specify a different level of audit and diagnostic logging for this app than is specified in the system default setting.
The following values are available:
Debug – debug level messages enabled plus recording server-client communications to disk.
Audit – standard level - this is the default setting.
None – no auditing.
Default – Use the default logging setting from the Default Audit Level Property under the Server Properties.
If you set this Property to a value other than Default, the value specified will override the Server setting for this app.
Note that you can also set the logging level for individual users, in which case the setting highest up in the list of values above will be used – see App Manager Audit and Debug Logging for more information.
Geo Tagging
This option overrides the current default server-wide setting for geotagging configured under the Server Properties.
The App Manager options for geotagging only affect Digitise apps running within a standard Digitise Apps Client. For Standalone Apps, you can enable or disable geotagging within the build request sent to the Digitise Apps Build System from within App Studio.
The geotagging feature sends details of a user's location to the App Server whenever an app downloads or uploads data.
This option can take the following values:
Enabled – Turn geotagging ON for this app.
Disabled – Turn geotagging OFF for this app.
Default – Use the default server-wide geotagging setting from the GeoTagging Property under the Server Properties.
